Discover Bagnone 2024 – Guided Tours and Escursions

Guided tours, excursions and tastings to discover the nature, flavors and beauties of Bagnone.

Since spring 2024, Bagnone has won the recognition of the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club for its natural and cultural beauties.
From the Tuscan Appennine National Park, with the natural waterfalls and MTB routes, to the villages with the numerous medieval castles.

Bagnone, the faity tale town of Lunigiana, is a medieval village on the slopes of the Appennines and crossed by numerous historical paths such as the Via Francigena, the Via Del Volto Santo, and the Via del Sale, which connected central Italy with the Po Valley. The ancient streets that led to Bagnone have made it a weekly and seasonal market village. The castle built in the fourteenth century by the Malaspina family, passed to the Fiorentines and the Noceti Counts who are still the owners of the manor.

In the 2024 tourist season, a rich calendar of hiking and e-bike excursions, guided tours of the village and castle gardens, tastings on local farms is coming.
Guided tours and experiences are at a discounted rate thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Bagnone, located under the porches of Piazza Roma, in the spaces of the Museum Archive of Memory.

• Bagnone Segreta is the free offer tour to discover the cultural beauties of the historic center, from the ancient Gutula to the medieval village perched on the hill.

Activities for families between nature, flavors and art to discover the beauties of Bagnone while having fun.

• Herb Hunt of the Torta d’Erbi di Treschietto, a small excursions suitable for everyone to discover the edible spontaneous herbs traditionally used in the Lunigian cuisine.

Where and When? Saturday, May 4 at 3 p.m., meeting at the Le Stele Hostel in Treschietto. At the end of the route, partecipants will be able to taste herbs cakes and barbotta at the traditional Sagra della Cipolla di Treschietto.

Cost 5€ per participant *tasting are not included.

Adventurous experiences by E-bike or on foot, immersed in nature among woods, streams and waterfalls of the Tosco Emiliano Apennine National in Bagnone, accompanied by the Enviromental Hiking Guides of Sigeric, experts in Tourism in Lunigiana.

All activities are by reservation.

• In E-bike at the Bivacco

Pedal through the villages and woods of the Bagnone Valley, between hamlets of Corlaga, Vico, Treschietto and Compione to the Capanne dei Tornini, where you will stop to enjoy a delicious picnic based on local products (typical lunch basket on request).

Where and when? Departure from the village of Bagnone, 19 May and 15 September. All- day excursion.

Cost 20€ per person including bike rental and helmet (lunch is not included).

• Pic Nic at Bivacco

Trekking along the most beautiful paths of the Tuscan Emilian Apennine National Park, in search of springs and waterfalls, to enjoy the cool in the shade of the Bagnonese woods and taste together to the typical products of the local traditio (typical packed lunch on request).

Where and when?

• Fagianelli Waterfall and Bivoac-Departure from Vico Valle, June 2 and September 22. All day excursion.
• Capanne dei Tornini-Departure from Iera, july 7 and August 18. Excursions of the duration of the whole day.

Cost 5€ per person packed lunch is not included.

• River Trekking Bagnone Adventure

An adventure between waterfalls and rocks ot the Bagnone stream. With this exciting river trek we will go up the river from Treschietto to Iera accompanied by an Enviromental Hiking Guide. Excursion lasting about 5 hours.

Where and when? Departure and return to Treschietto, August 9Th.

Cost 20€ per person, promotional price for the rental of the equipment (suit,helmet and life jacket).

Experiences in nature suitable for everyone, to learn about flora and fauna, but also traditions and gastronomy of the Natural and Cultural Park of the Bagnone Valley, accompanied by the Enviromental Hiking Guides of Sigeric, experts in Tourism and Nature in Lunigiana.

• Il Bosco di Notte Treking at night in the woods of the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine National Park to discover the animal life that awakens from  twilight to dawn. We will sit in silence feeling the feeling of absolute darkness, with only the light of the stars and fireflies to show us the way. Through the reproduction of certain sounds with the help of audio recordings, we will try to contact the most characteristic inhabitants of the forest, such as the owl. A unique experience to afford in contact with nature, suitable for young and old. Excursion lasting about 2 hours.

• Treschietto, May 25 at 8 p.m. and June at 8:30 p.m.
• Sacred Forest of Iera, July 26 at 8 p.m.

• The Night Forest under the Falling Stars A night trekking in the Tosco Emiliano Apennine National Park with guided observation of the sky in collaboration with an astronomy expert from the Astrofili Massesi Group.

Where and When? Departure from Bagnone, August 12 at 7:30 p.m.

• The Autumn Forest to discover the chestnut supply chain Treking with the family, in the woods of the Bagnone Valley to collect chestnuts and get to know the supply chain of this fruit with an ancient flavor and its “bread tree”. At the end of the walk, visit a farm that produces chestnut flour.

Where and When? Treschietto, October 6 at 10 a.m.

Taste the autentic flavors of the Bagnone Valley, the flavors recover the ancient tradition and offer traditional recipes. The producers, however, have been extremely skilled at bringing innovation and growth also in craftmanship. Together with our Tourist Guides and Enviromental Hiking Guides we will have the opportunity to visit farms and wineries to savor and taste the local specialties.

• Pedala and Degusta Bagnone An E-Bike tour between villages and castles of the Bagnone Valley with a tasting stop of local wines and flavors for a special snack in a Bagnonese farmhouse. The excursions lasts about 2 hours and 30.

Where and When? Departure from the village of Bagnone, June 16 at 4 p.m.

Cost €30 per participant, including tasting and E- Bike rental.

• Walk & Wine – Glasses at sunset walking through the hills and cultivated countryside of the Bagnone Valley, with suggestive views of medieval villages and castles, we will reach local farms and wineries to discover.

• Departure from Lusana and arrival in Greciola, at the Azienda Agricola Ca’Bianca, July 21 and August 31 at 6 p.m.
• Departure from Castiglione del Terziere and arrival in Pagazzana, at th Azienda Agricola Villa di Negro, September 28 at 4 p.m.
